I just want to paint cool works that people enjoy. I don’t have time for frill.

In 2012 I visited a Rembrandt exhibit at the Minneapolis Institute of Art.

Aside from his spectacular skill and rendering abilities, I realized that Rembrandt has been dead for 350+ years and the work from his living hand still exists today for all to see.

Three months after the exhibit I was shopping in a used book store for my son and I came across a complete oil painters kit for $10. (Slam dunk). It was the first attempt at an oil painting which ended in frustration and was promptly displayed inside my trash can.

At the end of my life I may not create works for the world to see centuries after I am dead. But I can provide proof of my living being for my friends and relatives to enjoy as generations pass.

May we all continue to live in our creations long after we leave this Earth.
